The black business car parade
Supporting Black Business… we hear it, we see it, and most often time we do our best to support. It seems that our support may still fall short in helping Black businesses to survive and our true goal, flourish. The Black Business Car Parade provides an immediate impact and boost for local Black owned businesses. Organizers Jeskell Creecy and Dr. Duke Okeke have established, and created a mechanism for an immediate monetary boost as well as a swell in exposure and awareness.
The Parade starts with a rendezvous point where attendees decorate signs, vehicles, etc. to make their way to a local black business. When the parade arrives, attendees make a purchase from that business and the show goes on to the next location. The financial impact is huge! BUT that’s not where their impact ends. This event has a much further reach that has an intrinsic value beyond the monetary significance.
The parade creates a ripple effect that starts following the event. Attendees post their experience at Backyard BBQ Pit and no matter if the attendee is talking about the parade or about the slice of red velvet cake from Favor Desserts, the story of the parade is intertwined with the businesses. The parade brings an immediate financial boost, new customers, a chance for repeat customers, social media exposure and awareness for continued support!
The Black Business Car Parade is just so Durham… And Durham folks know what I mean with no additional explanation. Be sure to follow @TheBlackBusinessCarParadeDurm and participate in the next parade. In the meantime support black business!
Thank you Jeskell Creecy and Dr. Duke Okeke,
-CP
